*** THIS ITEM IS UNDER CONTRACT ***  Thanks for looking.

Item # RR20805

Status:Used, personally owned

Description: This is a very nice Trike kit for your Honda GL1500 (any year).  You can get adapter kits for other bikes from http://www.mctvoyager.com at additional cost.
This is the wide version of the kit for bikes with side boxes.  The kit goes on or off in about 5 minutes after the mount plates are installed and the pre-loads are set up the first time.  This kit has larger tires than the Insta-trike kits and I think they look a lot better.  The kit has been custom painted with high quality House of Kolors paint by professionals and if you have a wineberry or red color bike, this should look very nice on the bike.  There are only 3 parts to paint if you wish to match to another color bike.  It also comes with over $250 worth of brand new, very classy, commercial grade LED light bars (see pictures), completely wired and ready to plug into any trailer hitch socket (after matching wiring and connectors).  The socket on the included hitch and ball are extensions of the socket on the bike so when it is on you just plug it in like it is the trailer and the trailer plugs on at the Voyager rear hitch with the Voyager tapping it's lights along the way.  So you are free to have it any way you like.  Also included are the factory stainless kick plates option and the newest up to date receiver bearing kit from Voyager.

The kit does not force you to commit a bike to a trike which is a nice advantage if you plan to sell the bike later or if you have multiple bikes you would like to switch the kit between (assuming you bought additional mount plates from Voyager).
The nice thing about towing a trailer with the Voyager is that the load is completely removed from the bike axle so the kit removes that weight from the bike load.  The load is on the Voyager's car tires and chassis of the kit, instead.  Towing is much more stable with the kit than it is with a trailer attached directly to the bike.  As you can see in the pictures, the tires are like new and this is a very nice like new kit.  The chrome on the wheels could use a bit of cleanup but the pictures shown are the actual wheels as they are so not bad at all.  Also notice that you can hang the kit on the wall with the appropriate preparation to keep it out of the way when you wish to go two wheeling again.   This is a very easy system to put on and take off.  I use a small motorcycle jack to keep it stable while I get the kit on or off, by myself.  Alternatively, you can do it with two people without the jack (one to stabilize the bike) just about as easily.
The kit is still on my GL1500 since there is no real reason to remove the mounts until the item is sold in case the new owner wishes to see how to install the mounts for the kit.  Since this requires removing the side boxes and the rear axle once, this could be a few hour session. Alternatively, I could pull the mounts before pickup if desired.  I will also do the mount kit install and do the pre-load adjustments on your GL1500 for an additional $250 and would also do the trailer wiring for an additional $100 + parts.  If everything was done by me, it would take a FULL day to complete.  You can also do it all yourself and just bring a full sized trailer to carry the kit home in.
Voyager charges $4095 for the bare kit, plus $95 for the stainless fender shields, $200 for a really bad lite kit (non-led) and wiring harness and $945 to get it painted.  That would be a total of  $4390 BEFORE shipping, the custom paint or any installation or adjustments.  Check the prices out for yourself at http://www.mctvoyager.com also look at the videos they have about the kit.
